Jesus Christ they are a crazy bunch at Berkeley. I’m taking half my classes from the Econ department this semester so I’m getting more exposure than usual. Anyway, we have to turn in our homework assignment online for urban economics. Why? Because the professor had too many problems in the past with people stealing each other’s homework out of his box, or other means of sabotage!!! What the fuck this is only his second or third semester teaching, EVER! Who ARE these people!?
After much debate last night with my dad, we finally used the remaining frequent flier miles to pay for our family’s trip to Hawaii. May 27 till June 10. I excite. It’s the first time we’ve taken a non-California/non-family-related trip all together in 6 years. The idea of Hawaii has been floated for years, but we never really acted on it. When I was younger and we travelled more as a family, we usually went to Thailand instead and that was “our Hawaii” (Thailand was convenient and cheaper when you took into consideration we went to Taiwan every summer for family). And then my family just kinda got lazier. And lack of work got in the way more frequently. Now that I’ll be graduating soon though, there’s been this sort of panic to do one last family trip together. This summer is going to be EPIC:
um EXCUSE ME but i did NOT get the message that they replaced every single fucking person on project runway !!!
I WANT TIM
I discovered a lot of music while abroad that I love love love now that I’m 99% I would’ve never discovered if not for going abroad. I particularly fell in love with female pop singers. I love me my Katy Perry, Rihanna, and Lady Gaga, but I found the music that was coming out in the UK fresher/edgier. So I’m posting some of my favorites in case you’re interested in getting a bit more into music that maybe isn’t popular in the US but has enjoyed quite a bit of success across the pond.
I feel like the only word I can think of to describe this song is “nasty”. I just think of a sweaty and grimy club in, like, Manchester or something. This may be due to the music video. And maybe “swag”.
I’m so terrible at describing things. I guess it’s a little reggae…..ish? I don’t know. But awesome song nonetheless. It makes me want get up and move. Though I still like the above song more.
The word “swag” definitely comes into play again here. “Price Tag” enjoyed some success here but this song is WAY better and WAY different. So don’t judge Jessie J based on “Price Tag”. This song has lots of profanity, so I particularly enjoy singing along to it. It also kind of makes you want to punch something.
Nicola Roberts “Beat Of My Drum”
Fucking love this girl. She was part of Girls Aloud. It’s pure pop fun. It just makes me so happy. And DAMN girl has got some legs!
More pure pop fun. But still different from the above song. Except her legs. Still amazeballs. If you like Nicola Roberts, I also suggest checking out “Sticks + Stones” and “Yo-Yo”.

Behold a perfect layered look from the BIRD Bruton Street spring 2012 collection.
I’m not much a fashion person. I used to be really into shopping and coming up with new, creative outfits, but between hanging out with lots of casual Spanish people over the last year and deciding I like food more than clothes (and therefore becoming less willing to spend money on clothes), I’ve become decidedly less interested and less interesting.
but goddamn i want ankle cut skinny jeans and a bright yellow little purse now.
1) iTunes has some really good free music
2) I hate people who listen to music on their phones without headphones on public transit. Ever consider others don’t like it? Oh god now he’s singing…
3) GO OREGON
4) GO OKLAHOMA STATE
5) Disneyland, why is your weather forecast so warm (70s)? Generally, this is good, but not not when I didn’t bring any warm weather clothes home. I guess a trip to Berkeley is in order, bleh.
